Remove any inserts or loose padding in the bottom of the shoes.
2.Prewash the shoes by scrubbing with the liquid dishwasher soap and a stiff scrub brush. I have also used the white micro cleaner pads that are now available in the cleaning section of discount stores. These work well on the smooth part of the leather, but for fabric shoes and for getting into the tread and seams, the scrub brush works better.
3.Open the shoes as far as they can be opened with the tongue out and place them upside down in the dishwasher rack. You can wash many pair at once. I wash them on a sanitizing cycle without additional soap in the dishwasher.
4.When the shoes are done washing....I dont leave them on the hot drying cycle....I set them outdoors in the shade to dry. I have also set them over the forced air registers of the furnace or air conditioner in damp weather. It will take a while to dry....depending on how much padding inside, fabric vs leather, etc.
5.I wash the laces and inserts, pads, etc which were previously removed from the shoes in the same load of the dishwasher. First scrub them with the dishwasher detergent. You can use a little bleach to brighten and disinfect them, but make sure that you rinse the bleach out before washing the load so that the bleach doesn't get on your colored shoes. Tie the laces to the upper rack or place them in an old nylon stocking tied to the rack so that the laces don't get tangled.

<trackback:ping>http://www.shoesathletic.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=13&key=445fa0fd</trackback:ping>

How to Clean Athletic Shoes

1.Prepare a solution of water and a neutral cleaner (such as liquid dish-washing detergent or another mild product.
2.Remove laces and inserts and rinse the shoes with water inside and out.
3.Use a soft brush and the cleaning solution to scrub every part of both shoes, including liners and insoles.
4.Remove scuff marks with a white nylon-backed scrub pad.
5.Rinse the shoes thoroughly with water.
6.Stuff the shoes with paper (not newspaper'the ink will run and make a mess) to absorb excess water and to help the shoes keep their shape. There were no lights, a steel, kidney-shaped backboard (ugh!) with bent rims, occasionally a steel chain net and no lines painted to properly delineate the free throw line and out of bounds. The surface was often rough and cracked. You had to know where the ball would give a true bounce and where you could lose control because of the uneven surface. But we played on for endless hours in all weather. The worst nights were when there was no moon to play by. We had to quit play early on those nights. Every Christmas I would find a new Voit basketball under the tree. It was a glorious site, sparkling, hard, looking just like a ball you would see the pros play with on television. ..

<trackback:ping>http://www.shoesathletic.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=10&key=2979e2f4</trackback:ping>

The Man Who Invented Modern Athletic Shoes Inadvertently Revolutionized Commerce

Proper cleaning and maintenance is the first and foremost step in taking good care of your athletic shoes and is sure to increase the useful life of them. Different types of athletic shoes demand different cleaning procedures and technique. The only hard and fast rule to clean your athletic shoes; is to the use a cloth and clean them at least once every day. However taking proper care of your shoes is much more than just that.
Shoes made up of dissimilar material claim different nature of cleaning. Leather shoes and suede shoes are the hardest to sustain and clean. They require particular care and consideration to maintain their new look or the suede might wear out or the leather might become dull. Such shoes should be cleaned thoroughly at least once every month or each time you see muck or filth on them.
Cleaning suede athletic shoes is a lot harder than cleaning any other type of shoes. To clean suede shoes always use a soft clean fabric and gently rub the surface of the shoe. Use precise suede erasers to rub out any tarnish without damaging the suede. If a precise suede eraser is not available then some normal good quality pencil eraser can also be used. This will allow you to maintain the dynamism of your suede while eradicating the spots.

<trackback:ping>http://www.shoesathletic.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=9&key=f64c3939</trackback:ping>

MBT Athletic Shoes to Build a Perfect Posture

Do you feel yourself slouching over more and more, causing an increase in back pain? Nike will recycle any brand of athletic shoe through its Reuse-a-Shoe program. Run your athletic shoes over to any Nike athletic shoes, or mail them straight to the company's recycling center -- details here. Nike processes and recycles the footwear to make athletic shoes surfaces for basketball courts, tennis courts, running tracks, and playgrounds. Right now, they're collecting athletic shoes to make athletic surfaces for New Orleans, to help get kids back out on the courts even as the city rebuilds. To date, about 20 million pairs of athletic shoes worldwide have been recycled through the program.

<trackback:ping>http://www.shoesathletic.net/cmd.asp?act=tb&id=7&key=f5822ffb</trackback:ping>

athletic shoes use in

The term athletic shoes is typically used for running in a marathon or half marathon, basketball, and tennis (amongst others) but tends to exclude shoes for sports played on grass such as football (futbol) and rugby, which are generally known as "boots", or in North America as cleats.

Attributes of an athletic shoe include a flexible sole, appropriate tread for the function intended and ability to absorb impact. As the industry and design have expanded, the term "athletic shoes" is based more on the design of the bottom of the shoe than the aesthetics of the top of the shoe. Today's designs even include sandal, mary jane and even elevated styles suitable for running, dancing and jumping.

The shoes themselves are made of flexible compounds, typically featuring a sole made of dense rubber. While the original design was basic, manufacturers have since tailored athletic shoes for the different purposes that they can be used for. A specific example of this is the spiked shoe developed for track running.
